internet connection

i have an internet connection, broadband, at Rs. 250 a month. my phone number is 2304790. whenver i try to access net, sometimes i get a message like CONNECTING THROGH WAN MINIPORT *PPOE* AND then it says REMOTE COMPUTER DID NOT RESPOND.    I Checked in the settings and it read as connection throgh WAN MiniPort. the internet connection is not constant, gets broken evry now and then, and i had to again get connected or restart the sysetm.   i would like to what exactly is the problem and how it could be rectified.
